HS homecoming

So my cute little sissy went to her very first dance. I thought i told her she wasn't allowed to grow up!  I love doing make up but its something I wish I did more of! I came home early from the byu game just to do her hair and make up, which is something us Wonnacotts DO NOT do. Mckenna is a simple girl. She doesn't really wear make up besides a little bit of mascara and blush but this was my time to get her all dolled up. When someone doesn't usually wear lots of make up i try not to cake it on, i like to keep it more simple.  Don't stray too far or else they won't like it! We started with a primer, foundation, and a powder. Once i got my bass make up down i moved onto the eyes.  Some people like to do the eyes first just cause sometimes you have some shadow drop down that you have to clean up, its all up to your preference. ( i will include all make up i used at the bottom) with the eyes you always want to make sure you put a primer down, it just allows your shadows to stay all day as well as blend together.  I first started with a nude/natural color to give the eye an all over color. I then added some gold pigment and last added some brown in her crease to make her eyes POP.  I added just a little bit of light pink just in the corners of her eyes and on her brow bone. I put eye liner in her water line to just give her a bolder eye without having her eyes look too dark.  Brows, brows to me are the most important part. They can make or break your face, everyone should fill in their brows! If you don't, start today. They really are an asset and frame your whole face.  Last blush and bronzer. I love to use a hydrating spray because i have such dry skin and i feel like it gives you that glowing dewy look at the end! Its a very simple look that i love and looks good on everyone!!

the dress

the first of my wedding pictures-
my wedding day was the most magical day of my life thus far. to think that everyone was there for me and jimmy is so overwhelming. how is it possible to have both of our loved ones all in the same place at the same time? all growing up you dream of your perfect wedding, how do you make that possible.  how do you find the perfect venue, dress, flowers, cake, decorations, ect. of course for years I've had a pinterest of things i liked but when it came down to it very few pictures i had pinned reminded me of what i imagined my wedding to look like.  i knew i wanted soft colors, so we started with that and decided blush and ivory were soft, elegant colors that resemble me. i saved an image of a dress i fell in love with years ago, it was on my pinterest and saved to my iPad. the style resembled me so perfectly and it was a dressed i dreamed of finding for years. but who really thinks they can find the exact dress. as time winded down i thought maybe i should start looking.  we went to several stores and i narrowed down to what i didn't want. i didn't want a ball gown, ruching, cap sleeves, corset.  i started to drift from my original picture and now started to think i wanted something simple.  i now wanted a lace dress. as time passed i was in search of the most perfect lace dress i could dream of, but nothing suit me quite right.  after going to about 4 or 5 stores i still hadn't found a dress for me, thats when we stumbled upon Fantasy Bridal. A bridal store up in sandy, so i searched for the number to make a appointment while searching for the number i looked at a few gowns they had in their store. they had the dress i fell in love with years prior. when we get up there i still have set in my mind, lace. so i picked out all the lace ones they had and figured maybe i will pull that one even though it wasn't what i wanted anymore. as i tried on all these gorgeous gowns my mom and best friend jenny were out in the waiting room waiting for me to come out in the first lace dress. i went out and they just ooo'd and awww'd over how stunning i was in these dresses but they just don't seem like me.  the day was coming to an end and i didn't want to try on my last dress, i thought i have too. i have loved it for years.  so i try on this perfectly fitted mermaid/fit and flare, sucked to my body as if it were meant for me. i walked out into the waiting area as tears came to my mom and jenny's eyes, they stared and continued with "THIS IS YOUR DRESS, it describes you perfectly". at this point i was confused, is this what i want? i wasn't sure, all i knew is that i didn't want to get out of that dress. i couldn't make a decision that day because my little sister wasn't with us. i told them to hold the dress and we will be back later that week. that whole week i couldn't stop thinking about that dress i knew i HAD to have it and today i don't regret it for one second. i loved my dress!

football & freedom

what's better than America and football? nothing. that is why this makes my very first blog post that much better! i mean seriously.

my dad has this new found glory which is tailgating. he went all out, so i thought. they can point out the first year tailgaters. but these tailgaters don't mess around! it was so fun. so i will be going for the next weeks to come!

it was an all blue out so of course we were going to participate.

and then… we entered the stadium.
the smell of the sweet cinnamon almond had my mouth watering just seconds after entering. but i had to wait because this happened. can i just say how proud i am to be an American?  i had the goosebumps the whole time, how could you not?

please excuse my husbands hair cut. he thinks he looks good so i just go with it.

he hated that i asked for his picture during the game. don't worry it was a timeout.

and last but not least… these guys. mmmmmm!

guys, I'm really excited about this blog of mine. its more just a personal blog then anything else. but i love it cause it encourages me to pursue my hobbies which is awesome. i also love me some college night football so it was a good night to say the least. always remember 9/11. that is a day that will always be in my heart. i can remember exactly where i was when i saw the news.  I'm so grateful for the men and women that serve our country that allows me to be FREE and for that i can never repay.
